FINAL ASSESSMENT –Role plays and performance plan
Part A – Role play
Reward and recognition project
Imagine that after 12 months, data shows that your team has exceeded the percentage increase in sales and you have decided to recognise your team for their efforts.
In your role-play thank them for their efforts in achieving the strategic goals, as well as the details of the reward or recognition you intend to provide based on their performance.
Part B– Managing under performance project
Review the following case study information:
Imagine that there have been complaints to you as the Marketing and Communications Manager from the other two staff about the Marketing Officer’s work.
The staff complained that the Marketing Officer is often talking to friends on her/his mobile and so when the office phone rings they answer the phone. Even when the staff member can see they are trying to answer questions that directly relate to her/his work, she/he does not end her/his personal call. This not only takes other staff member’s time in answering such calls, but also then to make notes for his/her on the call.
The staff has said that the behaviour is recent and up to then, the staff member has always been hard-working and reliable.
You need to meet with the staff member to discuss the issue and identify realistic solutions.
