This Assessment is designed to test the knowledge that you have acquired throughout the unit. Use the following tips to help you answer the questions:

Performance Evidence

 

Evidence of the ability to:

  • develop, implement, monitor and review an organisational performance management process which supports business goals including analysing the organisational strategic and operational plan
  • design methods for the development of key performance indicators and formal performance management sessions by line managers
  • consult with stakeholders to gain support
  • design, develop, coordinate and implement individual and group learning and development
  • train line managers and other relevant people to manage performance
  • provide support to line managers to effectively manage performance issues, including dispute resolution and termination of employment
  • develop approaches to improve performance and address identified performance gaps.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

  • list characteristics of a learning organisation
  • outline policies and legislation relevant to performance management
  • summarise grievance procedures
  • explain models for giving feedback and options for skill development
  • describe options in the design of performance management processes
  • outline role of performance management in relation to broader human resources and business objectives.

Activity 3 –Excursion

While on the excursion you will be required to make notes. Upon your return to college you must write a report on the visit and itemise what you have seen and why you do you recommend. How would rate the performance of each item below?

Points to note:-

  1. Location (close to transport)
  2. Parking facilities
  3. Other outside features (hot-dogs, drinks etc.)
  4. Greeter (a person at the entry who welcomes customers to the store)
  5. Catalogues showing where stock may be found
  6. Trolleys (and where to return them to after use)
  7. Emergency exit signage
  8. Signage regarding special offers
  9. Staff to assist in locating items and to offer technical support
  10. How the staff interact with each other
  11. Details about free practical seminars
  12. Signage inside indicating where items are shelved
  13. The range of products (garden equipment, paint, photocopiers, stationery, etc.)
  14. Similar items stored logically
  15. Amenities
  16. Check-out terminals, both automatic and manned
  17. Goods returned and enquiries counter
  18. Disabled facilities (parking, access to store and toilets)
