Your company provides several mobile productivity apps for employees so they can access the company network and collaborate while working from home, waiting for trains and during the other times when they are away from their desk. The apps work well, but lately you noticed some of your employee using them during meeting and presentation to work on project not related to those events, you explain to several employees that this behavior can be considered rude to speaker and fellow team members, but your employee protested that they have a mountain of work to do and meetings are sometimes a waste of time. Explain how to respond to this dilemma.
As we all know, meetings are important gatherings that help people brainstorm and evolve new ideas and practices for the organizations where they work. It’s also true that meetings at times waste too much of labor and time, thus affecting the productivity. One of the most important things one could do in this context is to analyze whether all the people are needed for that particular meeting or inviting only the important ones would be beneficial. Collect all the electronic devices when they enter for the meeting and tell them to use a notepad and pen for discussion — fitting a jammer near the meeting room thus, blocking all the networks. The final step, give all the present members a specific task. This could be helpful during those certain meetings that go only one way which could distract others.
