The two very important types of leadership are the Authentic leadership and the transformation leadership. To begin with anything it is important to understand a brief about each of the two types of leadership.
– Authentic Leadership: As the name suggests, they are very authentic and real In nature. They are extremely honest towards themselves and the surroundings and are pretty aware of everything happening around them. People with this kind of leadership trait are loved and adored by everyone in the organization.
– Transformational Leadership: As the name suggests, transformational leader is a style which motivates people in the surrounding. Leaders with such a trait try and work for the betterment of the society. They put the society needs over their own needs as a priority.
The major difference between Authentic leadership and the transformation leadership is as follows:
- Authentic leadership- They are very true people, who are extremely honest not to their followers and their team, but also to themselves. Honesty starts at home, this primarily means a person should be honest with oneself, if the person is honest with it’s own self, then half the battle is already won. Such leaders and discovers in nature and have discovered themselves fully. They are well aware about all their strengths and weakness and work on the weakness right from the day one. Also, they are emotionally also very strong and are well aware of that. They know how to keep their emotions under control. On the other hand, in case of Transformational leadership, a leader which possess such a quality is regarded as very motivational in nature. The main aim for such leaders is to bring about changes to make the workflow very smooth.They have an aura of inspiring everyone around them, to keep them motivated and push them to work for future changes.

Importance of Authentic leadership- This type of leadership builds a trust amongst the employees, which leads to increasing of the followers. This is very much needed to improve the performance of the employees. A leader only succeeds when his or her followers or teammates respect the leader, listen to him, trust him and have faith in him. That is when they will be satisfied with the working conditions. Employee satisfaction is directly related to the increase in the efficiency of the organization.
Importance of Transformational leadership- This type of leadership is very systematic and well organized in it’s nature. It values and treasures new ideas and innovation. Innovation is supposed to be the heart of any business. Such leaders are more of visionary. They are more of problem solvers than of problem cribbers. They have very well self assigned goals and are very sorted in their head.
However, when the working culture is not very good and the employees find it hard to trust their leaders, at this point of time authentic leadership comes into the picture and becomes the best option to resolve this issue.
However, when the business is very small but it has set for itself very big targets and goals, then at this stage employees need a leader which is very motivational and inspiring. Transformational leadership comes into the picture at this stage and proves to be the best option to apply on it.
