It is self-motivated and reinforcing network of beliefs, patterns, behaviors etc. It is a way people interact, take decisions and influence other one another. Leader’s beliefs affect the decisions, behavior and it ultimately becomes leadership practice.
Characteristics :
Dependent Leadership Culture: Decision making authority with few senior positions only, Conformer’s culture, don’t like to change, strong emphasis on keeping things smooth etc.
Independent Leadership Culture: Leadership is based on knowledge and expertise. Strong emphasis on individual performance, distribution of powers, calculated risks, certain level of independence in decision making, etc.
Interdependent Leadership Culture: Here emphasis is laid on to collaborate, debate, valuing differences, openness, learning, synchronization in team work etc. This type of culture requires mutual learning and growth.
