What insights have you gained about the challenges of merger and cross-functional integration? Do you think a coalition of allies and supporters surrounding a leader is essential or necessary? Why or why not?
I have gained valuable insights into the challenges of merger and cross-functional integration of the HR department and the entire management system. There is some conflict between employees about the reason for the merger. One of the most significant challenges faced is cultural fusion. The culture of both the merging companies differs and hence creates an issue of cross-cultural incompatibility, and the aesthetic which prevails over other usually becomes a bone of contention.
The coalition of the allies and supporters surrounding the leader is essential and necessary because leaders require the support of their team members. The supporters support the leader to move ahead and lead. It is expected that the leaders get help during a tough time.
