In your own words, define HRM. How has your understanding changed from what you thought / believed prior to this class? Do you think HRM is valuable to organizations? Or, do you think organizations can function without HRM?
HRM (Human resource Management) in the basic language means to deal with people in the organization which Is the biggest asset. As a good pool of people can actually make a huge difference in any organization, HRM function is extremely important to the organization. Earlier, the basic mindset was that HR professionals just hire people o there core work only is recruitment and selection. However, after learning about HRM in detail the mindset has broadened. I have come to know now that they not only just deal with recruitment and selection as that is just one part of the total work, they deal with people individually where they try and make the work environment very friendly to retain the best minds. Talent management is extremely important for any organization to be successful in the long run. It is impossible to succeed with so much competition with the HRM Function today.
