Create a risk management plan that includes the following:
A set of risks that could reasonably occur on an IT project and the impact on the project.
An analysis of each risk-appropriate methods for managing each risk.
Risk: Change on the scope of the Project
How to handle this risk? Changing the scope of an IT Project can be common, and because of the nature of IT projects, they are essential as well. The problem with this risk is that it can change the entire Project. So to manage this risk, it is necessary to document it before the Project begins. As to how far each party is willing to change their part of the Project and on what stage it will begin. You wouldn’t be willing to change all the scope of the Project just one week before the deadline.
Risk: Deliver the Project before the Schedule
How to handle this risk? This is something common for most of the projects. Delivering the final product after the deadline, and it can be for reasons beyond the control of the parties involved, to handle this risk the communication is important. Raise a flag when you notice something going beyond the expected time limit.
Risk: Team members unable to deliver
How to handle this risk? Sometimes when working with the IT projects companies, we would choose junior consultants to pay less money or salaries without taking in consideration that their lack of experience can impact the Project and at times they don’t even know how certain technology or tool works.
