Common successful leadership styles are- Autocratic and participative leadership.
Autocratic leader is someone who is takes decision on the behalf of the whole group without discussing anything with his team members. Participative leader is someone who discusses everything with his team members and considers their opinion.
In autocratic leadership followers believes their leader and blindly trust the leader and any decision taken them.
In participative leadership all team members share their opinions and discuss it which motivates them accomplice the task.
Both type of leadership is necessary in the organization. It depends on the team size and task. If team size is big and considering every members opinion is difficult, it is better to switch to autocratic way. Again, for higher level decision it is better to follow participative leadership.
Common successful leadership traits are-
- Self-management- It’s more like to help and manage yourself and completing your task before helping others.
- Acting strategically- Vision for future and excellent planning to achieve goals of the organization.
- Effective communication- Effective communication skill is a major leadership quality. Communication should be upward and downward.
- A leader should be a responsible person and a wise decision maker.
Successful leadership ethical behavior-
- Ethical behavior should be noticeable in both personal life and in a community.
- Leader should be a sensitive person.
- Leader should use personal and organizational value to guide others.
- Implement decision based on fact not on opinion.
