How do the three classic project management levers – scope, resources, and schedule – interact?
The 3 classic project management levers – scope,resource and schedule are inseparable from each other, and cannot operate individually. They go hand in hand to make the process successful. An example of this, if the project manager square measure indivisible and might not operate in silos. For instance if the project manager increases the overall scope of the project and decreases the time of project, this will directly effect the cost of the project will shoot up as more resources and staff will be needed to complete the project with less time now. These three levelers are classic tools which are exceptionally amazing and handy to use. Many project managers are learning more and more about these three levelers to increase their overall efficiency and effectiveness. Many project managers solely focus on the scope as a factor as that is they feel is in their control. However, they should not ignore the other levelers.
Once all the brain storming, analysis, planning is done done for a particular project (Which is the primary foundation if any project and maximum focus should be given to this step), the next milestone is deciding the budget of the project and the timeline of the project. Various business houses rely on these two aspects a lot. Project managers have a huge room to make changes in the project from time to time as they are not advised to be rigid and with rapidly changing environment it becomes very important for them to change their plans according to the market needs, however, if they make any drastic change which effects the entire functioning of the project, then they are suspected. That is why it is said and it is important to focus on the planning stage which plays a crucial part in the success of the project.
