The differences between male and female leadership styles are:
Male Leadership Style:
- Man has a commanding and controlling style, they tend to order instead of cooperation.
- Men are more tasks oriented and they tend to be directive.
- Men generally follow carrot and stick approach, they give incentives on successful completion of the task and they scold when one fails.
- Men try to show their power and position at workplace and thus they want their orders to be followed.
Female Leadership Style:
- Women generally follow a cooperative and participative way of leading.
- Women are independent and less authoritative as compared to men.
- Women leaders tend to motivate their employees by listening and solving their problems.
- Women leaders are generally considered to be very modest and they do not indulge themselves in self-branding.
