Schools, colleges, and universities have relied on it for decades until just recently, we might have seen any changes to it. For instance, earlier academic documents were written by hand and then submitted to teachers. Our teachers used to communicate with us within the classroom, whereas teachers today can simply reach the students with any of the social media platforms or group pages being made by the students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As students, our exams were held in the classroom and monitored by teachers, and we had to wait until the next day for our grades. Nowadays, students fill an online exam and receive their grades immediately after submitting their answers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The list for this goes on and on. To some, it might look quite a scary thing, but coming to the real fact, change is not always a bad thing.<\/span><\/p>\n

When we talk about the modern education system, it is potentially developed just to identify what students have learned. There are countries that have been thinking about bringing importance to the modern education system. They are trying to bring certain implementations to the system, but the fact that it still remains a grade-based mechanism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now the point comes as to why this present-day education still demands a grading system? Well, the grades are necessary if you are to judge the person and his learning. With this, the teacher identifies the status of their students, and what progress they\u2019ve made in the subject. To mark the progress and evaluate the result of a child, the grades are still being used in the modern education system. Because grades are the only thing that helps to evaluate the ranking of a student and how they\u2019ve been assessed for it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But, is it righteous to mark the students as per their grades? Well, there has been a shift towards the change being brought by the contemporary education system and the modern one being caught in practice. The reason why the modern education system still demands a grade-based evaluation is that there are some ranks and benchmarks set to it. However, the modern education system is all based on the competency learning factor, which is now worldwide accepted. There are different methodologies that have been brought into the contemporary education system but are not much effective to that extent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The modern education system is divided into multiple sectors and areas, and it can be used accordingly at different stages to the higher education level. Students learn better in the groups to reach the benchmark set by the modern education system. When you learn in some group or say classroom, you have to be competent enough to survive the environment, which is quite competitive.
